David Attenborough

David Attenborough is a kind natured animal and nature enthusiast. His love of the natural world infectiously entwines its way through his breath-taking documentaries and captures the hearts of his audience.
Through his knowledge, and often comedic moments with wildlife, each one of us is brought a rare glimpse into some of the world’s most inaccessible and remote areas.
He has been asked, hundreds of times “What is your favourite animal?” Attenborough states, as though he may be talking about the Amur leopard or Vampire Squid, “The one creature that I find absolutely fascinating, that I can hardly stop looking at it, is a nine-month-old human baby. The rate at which that grows, the rate and which that learns, the rate at which that acquires words… human babies are the most extraordinary of all creatures actually. They’re the most complex, but to me nothing can compare with them.”
He believes in bringing nature into the class room and his love and trust in children along with our amazing capabilities as humans inspires our next generation. Although we may feel sadness for many ecosystems and species that are still in danger, Attenborough gives us hope and reminds us of our triumphs. An increase in the populations of Humpback whales, Mountain gorillas and Tigers shows that once highly endangered animals can be brought back from the brink of extinction.
Attenborough’s conservationist work will undoubtedly have helped save and restore many species and habitats. His captivating and emotional recount of how the planet has changed in his life time draws each individual listening to make a change. He is ambassador for many charities including World Wildlife fund, Fauna & Flora, World Land Trust and The Wildlife Trusts.
“The final chapter is ours to write. We know what we need to do. What happens next is up to us.” – David Attenborough.
